My name is Scott Ringkamp and I currently work for Intermediate Unit 17 located in Williamsport, PA (home of the Little League World Series) as an Instructional Technology Specialist. On the side, I also get the privilege of teaching college students at the Pennsylvania College of Technology. Between the two places I spend most of my time teaching someone…whether it is working with teachers on how to use social media in the classroom, or teaching college students how to build a modern, flexible, website. Over the years I have been a middle & high school music teacher, substitute teacher, and camp program director. Each of which has allowed me to grow as a teacher and professional.
Outside of my purely professional life, I married my wife, Amy Ringkamp, in 2010. Together, we have explored the world and gone on many adventures while visiting places such as Disney World (our favorite), Morocco, the French Riviera, the canyon lands of Utah and much more. We recently embarked on our greatest adventure yet with the birth of our son Benjamin, who we look forward to taking to all the places that we love. These new experiences are the fire that keeps me going and provide the stories I use to relate to my students.
My passions outside of teaching include fiddling around with technology of all kinds. One of my favorite things to do is to set up new devices and fix broken ones for my friends and family. I also have a love for reading and consider the best vacation one with a hammock, a cup of coffee, and a good book. Finally, I have a love for Christ and his church and seek to live my life in such a way that reflects this to the world.
I am a firm believe that education is meant to be experienced. That the learner needs to have choices. That the learner will shape their own learning. I am always striving to learn how to provide this experience to all of my students.
